Bettr Weekends No 4 : Life Changing Moments, Don’t Duck It

This is something very personal and close to our hearts.

In the last 3 months, two dear female friends had died after a long and painful battle with cancer. They were in their early 30’s and one of them had left behind two beautiful children.

Cancer does not discriminate.

At the next Markets@Jaya One, we are privileged (and feel strongly about this) to have Passionately You as one of the key participants.

Passionately You is a joint community effort by Assunta Hospital, Asia Assistance, Jaya One and PJ Live Arts to address both breast and cervical cancer in a single campaign.

The campaign has been providing the public with information about cancer resources, treatment options and support services since May 2009 by reaching out to communities through its public and corporate road shows.

Breast and cervical cancer are the two most common cancers amongst Malaysian women, making it essential that we all step up and take charge of our health.

With one in every 20 women developing breast cancer, and 750 women dying annually from cervical cancer in Malaysia alone, there is a dire need for public awareness and education. 

This year’s campaign hopes to raise RM100,000 for the Assunta Foundation and has expanded to include campus road shows and the www.dontduckit.com website which aims to encourage 6,000 Malaysians to pledge their support for the cause and to learn more about breast and cervical cancer before the campaign finale in October.

The Passionately You 2011 campaign kicked off last month with campus road shows and donation drives for the Buy4Love Jumble Sale at Markets@JayaOne on Saturday, August 20.

And Best Of All....

100% of the proceeds from the various Passionately You activities will go to the Assunta Foundation, which helps fund treatment for breast and cervical cancer patients from the low-income group.

Please stop by the Passionately You booths at Markets@Jaya One, pause for a moment and make a donation. It would mean the world to us.

There will also be talks on breast cancer and healthy eating on the day itself. Please do all of us a favour and stop by for a couple of minutes. These talks will be worth your every second.

2.30pm – 3.00pm: “Eat Right Enjoy Life” by Ms. Ooi Ai Imm, Dietician, Assunta Hospital
